maquette Start a board
For photographers

From the shoot to the book.

Edit a body of work the way you would on the studio floor, with your editor or mentor beside you wherever they are. Then hang it, and bind it.

Start a board No account for your first board.
A board with twelve photographs of sea, still lifes and night streets in four columns, two comment pins, Bea's cursor among them.
What gets in the way

The edit lives in five places.

  1. Scattered.A catalogue on your laptop, a shared folder, a thread of file names, a PDF of the sequence, notes on your phone.
  2. Feedback without coordinates.“The third one. No, the other one.” Notes that don't point at the photo, let alone the highlight.
  3. You see the show and the book last.Test prints, mock-ups and dummies cost money and weeks, so the sequence is decided before you've seen it big.
How it works for you

Five steps, one body of work.

Each step uses what's already on the board: nothing to export, nothing to keep in sync.

01

Edit the shoot

Drop your selects on a board and look at them properly, side by side and one by one.

  • Drop, paste or pick. Photos up to 15 MB and PDFs, four uploads at a time.
  • The loupe. Space opens a photo full screen, with its EXIF.
  • Reading order is the sequence. Left to right, row by row.
  • Location removed. GPS leaves the file before it uploads.

Get a second eye

Send a link. Your editor's cursor appears beside yours and the conversation sits on the photographs.

  • Live, together. Cursors, presence, every move as it happens.
  • Notes on the pixel. Pin a comment where you mean, mention, assign, resolve.
  • An inbox. What's waiting for your reply, across every board.
  • Your undo. ⌘Z takes back your own moves, never theirs.

Test the show

One click hangs the sequence in a room. See whether the night pictures carry a wall before you print a single one.

  • Walls, frames, mats. Per photo or for the room; plaster, concrete, linen or brick.
  • Light. Warm to daylight, a downlight over each work.
  • Walk it together. Your editor walks beside you, as a figure in their colour.

Make the dummy

A board becomes a book in one click, already laid out in your order. Edit the spreads, then read it in 3D.

  • A sensible first layout. Full bleed or captioned, by orientation, crop and resolution.
  • Covers. Colour, paper, linen or matte, your artwork.
  • The reader. Turn the pages, try trim and paper.
  • Print-ready PDF. Interior with bleed and crop marks, the cover with its spine, a preflight for resolution.
The 3D reader open at pages 4 and 5: a night street on the left, the sea on the right.

Put it online

Publish your boards as a portfolio site at your own handle. Edit the draft as much as you like; the public only sees what you publish.

  • Four templates. Index, Essay, Plates, Contact sheet; switch without losing anything.
  • No scripts. Fast pages, images sized for every screen, re-encoded without metadata.
  • Every version kept. Put an earlier one back online in a click.

A month on the coastA scenario to show how the pieces fit, not a customer quote.

Mara has 400 frames from a month on the coast. She drops 60 selects on a board and sends the link to her mentor in Porto.

They sequence it on a Thursday call, cursors side by side; he leaves three pins on highlights he'd hold back. On Sunday she hangs it in the room to see if the night pictures carry a wall, then makes a book from the board and reads it in 3D before deciding what to print.
